3D FOOTWEAR
Personal exploration of different forms, shapes, details, and materials. An ongoing exercise of creativity with no boundaries.
PROGRAMS USED: Blender, KeyShot, Gravity Sketch, FUSION360, SOLIDWORKS, ZBrush, Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator

ALPHAFLY NEXT%

Timeline: 1.5 Weeks
An exercise of creating a photorealistic representation of the Alphafly with the see-through Atomknit weave constructed upper, ribbed laces,  patterned midsole/outsole, carbon Flyplate, insole, and Zoom Air units. The goal was to create a shoe model that looked as real as possible.

YZY CONCEPT

Timeline: 1 Week
Combining 3D poly-modeling and sculpting, the goal of this project was to mix and match different techniques to create an organic looking 3D printable shoe using highly efficient and optimized methods.

XENO

A project on utilizing  normal maps via baking in order to reduce the overall polycount for a smoother and more efficient workflow. A first time exploration of using Blender's built-in animation tools as well.

XENO 3D PROCESS

Timeline: 1.5 weeks
A quick breakdown of the industry 3D techniques I used to create XENO.

PROTOTYPE 03

A trail running shoe project focusing on adhering closely to professional standards for performance running footwear, such as stack height, offset, tolerances, and upper construction details. An exploration of texturing by using maps made in Photoshop for color, roughness, opacity, and displacement.

MULE

This project was an exercise of using and manipulating PBR maps in order to get photo-realistic textures. There was also an emphasis of learning how to use adaptive subdivision on the mule in order to achieve super high-resolution displacement textures at low cost, and minimal polycount.

FOAM SHOE

By exclusively utilizing Blender's built-in sculpting mode for the first time, this project's goal was to make the most organic looking shoe that I could come up with. Rendering, texturing, and lighting was done in KeyShot to bring the Foam Shoe to life.

PROTO 01

PROTO 01 was the first organically modeled shoe I made in Blender. Importing the upper from FUSION360; stitches, laces, and the midsole/outsole was sculpted/modeled in Blender. Texturing and rendering was done in KeyShot by using its RealCloth, labels, and Material Graph features.
